Tra Vinh University was formed and developed from Tra Vinh Community College. After 5 years of successful implementation of the Vietnam - Canada Community College Project, co-sponsored by the Government of Canada and the Government of Vietnam, together with the urgent need for education and training development of the province as well as the demand for human resources to implement the economic, cultural and social development strategy of the Mekong Delta region and the whole country, Tra Vinh University was officially established under Decision No. 141 / QD / 2006-TTg June 19, 2006 by the Prime Minister and became one of the public universities in the Vietnamese higher education system.
The university has been operating under the model of multi-level, multi-disciplinary, multi-modal training from college, university, postgraduate level, with the task of training and providing skilled human resources, research, science and application; providing services contributing to the development of education, economy, culture and society of Tra Vinh province and the Mekong Delta region in particular as well as the whole country in general.

Tra Vinh University is a public university, located in the Mekong Delta region, licensed by the Ministry of Education and Training national admission with 33 postgraduate majors, 58 undergraduate majors and 25 College level, focusing on sectors such as Agriculture - Fisheries, Engineering & Technology, Medicine - Pharmacy, Foreign Languages, Southern Language - Culture - Art Khmer, Economics - Law, Applied Chemistry, Education, Public Management, Office Administration and Tourism, Political Science, Foundation Science, Dentistry, Pre-University.

- JOB SERVICE CENTER OF TVU
- GENERAL INFORMATION
The Job Service Center, formerly known as the Student Employment Support Advisory Division under the Student Affairs Department, was launched in 2012 as the Student Career and Advisory Center, until 2017. Developed into an Employment Service Center under Decision No. 109 / QD-UBND, January 24, 2017 of the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province. Currently, the Center has 4 employees working full time, with salaries from the school budget.
- FUNCTIONS
Organize the implementation of services related to counseling, career guidance, job placement for students, students and employees, directly or associate labor export referral at the request of individuals Foreign enterprises and organizations as prescribed by law, providing local labor force, testing, vocational training for workers and training at the request of employers.
- MISSIONS
3.1. Consulting and career guidance includes:
- a) Consulting apprenticeship for pupils, students and employees on job selection, training level, study place suitable to their abilities and aspirations;
- b) Counseling on career and employment for students, students and employees on job selection in accordance with their abilities and aspirations; counseling on exam skills; on self-employment, domestic and foreign job hunting;
- c) Advising for employers on labor recruitment; human resource management and development; on labor use and job development;
- d) Counseling on labor policies and laws for students, students, employees, and employers.
3.2. Job placement for students, students and workers, providing and recruiting employees at the request of employers, including:
- a) Introducing employees who need to find jobs to employers who need to recruit employees;
- b) Supplying workers at the request of employers;
- c) Recruiting employees through recruitment examinations to select qualified people who satisfy the employer's requirements;
- d) Introduce and supply workers to the units and enterprises licensed to send Vietnamese workers to work abroad under the contract.
3.3. Collecting, analyzing, forecasting and providing labor market information.
3.4. Organizing training courses for primary and intermediate qualifications, vocational tests, capacity building training for job seeking, skills training, and other vocational training as prescribed by law.
3.5. Supporting for employees in case of moving from one job to another, moving from one locality to another, moving abroad to work and other support as prescribed by law.
3.6. Propagating and disseminating policies and laws on labor and employment.
3.7. Implementation of employment programs and projects.
3.8. Performing other services as prescribed by law.
